It was just like any other day pretty much. Went to school for all 6 periods, came home from school, and did my homework. But the only thing different was that Takai wasn’t there at school. Takai made my life happier. I knew him since kinder garden. And at the beginning of middle school he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said yes. (I just kinda wished he asked sooner.) We were always together whenever we could be.
    My family loved him and his loved me. It was our final year in high school, our plan was to get an apartment together. But on my birthday… He actually popped the question. He said my family had said it was okay. I was so filled with joy that I cried. I hugged him and he spun me around. It was only month until we would graduate. Until we got our freedom. Then the wedding would be in two months.
       There was a lot our planning. So my best girlfriend, Hana, helped with the planning. She’s was a miracle! Even though she could have gotten… a bit over done. But today at school she was acting… odd. All of my friends actually. I felt kinda left out of this circle. I just thought it was all the tests we were having and stuff, so I didn’t act like it brother me.
       But when I got home… That’s when I started to feel something was wrong. My mom was just in the cooking in the kitchen, silently. My dad was just watching TV. And even dinner was quite. Not even my little sister spoke much. So after the dinner I asked to go to Takai’s house. I always bring his homework for him whenever he was gone. My mom gone all shaken up when I asked but she said ok.
      I grabbed my coat and bag and headed out the door. It didn’t take long to get to his house. Just about 5 minutes so I didn’t have to have anyone escort me. For being early summer it was pretty cold. So I had just arrived at Takai’s house. I knocked on the front door. His mom answered. “Oh Ayu… Come inside…” she said. “Ok. I have Takai’s homework for him,” I replied. “Oh… How.. nice of you…Please…take a seat.., ”she said but it sounded like she was going to cry. “Um.. Ok..” I said sounding more like her. So I set his homework down on the table and took a seat.
      “Ayu… There’s something you need to know….,” she said somberly as she was beginning to cry. “What is it?…. Did something happen to…” I asked while choking on the last word. “Yes… He was in a car accident… And he…” She said looking away. “No! He didn’t! No, no, no!” I pleaded as I knew my worst fear had came true. “Yes… I’m… sorry…” his mother cried. I got up slowly and ran out the door. “Ayu!….”
